A moment from the road...

A new photo of Sam Bradley, Tom Sturridge & Rob hit the internet over the weekend. It seems the trio are having a great time traveling in Texas, hitting bars, and apparently an impromptu show.
Yes, I'm completely jealous of Texas! URGH!!

Sam Bradley rocks out the Hotel Cafe

After nearly five weeks Sam Bradley finished his musical residency at the Hotel Cafe, where he and his band played for a 45 minute set. When this announcement was made people traveled far and wide to come here him play.
I admit I was leery about seeing Sam Bradley with his new band but as usual Sam swept away all fears that may have lingered. Due to me being a complete lazy ass I didn't buy my ticket in a timely manner (ok I was at Kings of Leon on Monday and didnt think I could do back to back shows but then I remembered I'm Tammy! I can do anything!).
Normally getting into a sold out show at Hotel Cafe, isn't so scary but when they tell you @ 5pm you have a slim chance of getting in you FREAK OUT! And trust me when I say I was freakin'! Half way through Guy Sebastion's set they let a few of us in. The pressure was off, I ran to my table bought a beer and waited for Sam.

And thank goodness I went last night because it was hands down his best performance I've seen and others around felt the same way. I was fortunate to meet new fan @purplebrina17 for her first Sam show and she too was blown away.
It took us a while to catch our breath afterwards but energy Sam oozed out on stage seemed to follow me home. I was happy and energized and I didnt want it to end. If you haven't seen Sam yet I promise you he will NOT dissappoint you.

Because I'm the ultimate picture whore I had to get a picture with the band!

Happy Birthday Sam Bradley!

It's a busy day for Sam Bradley. Not only is it his birthday and the official launch date of his new website - www.sambradley.com - but it is the release date for his first official EP!

His self-titled debut is available for purchase and direct download on his website (here) and comprises six tracks:

01. Sea Blue
02. Eugene /You-Gan/
03. Derek
04. Pretty Boy
05. Passport
06. It Begins
While nothing compares to the experience of seeing Sam perform live, these tracks are infused with the soul and playfulness he exudes on stage. His voice is clear and and strong; polished, but not to the point where the passion behind it is lost. It is, in a word, perfect; both soothing and inciting, each song eliciting an emotional response. I can tell you it will be getting many a spin on my iPod.

The new site also offers merchandise and tour date listings - so far just a couple of dates in Vancouver, but hopefully some more *cough* LA *cough* dates will be added soon.

Hmm... this seems backwards. Aren't we supposed to be giving gifts to the birthday boy, not the other way around?

Thank you so much, Sam! I hope you enjoy your day and wherever you are, feel the love from your fans. Come see us soon, we miss you!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Love,
The Twilight Sisterhood

The Trifecta of Awesome: Bobby, Sam and Marcus TOGETHER

Two of our sisters were lucky enough to attend TwiCon in Dallas this weekend, and between their emails, texts and tweets I was beside myself with second-hand excitement for them.

But when they told me that 3/4ths of the infamous Brit Pack, Bobby Long, Marcus Foster and Sam Bradley, were on stage performing TOGETHER well... I died a little bit. Word on the street is they played I am Broken (made famous by none other than Mr. Rob Pattinson), so if anyone has that video I am going to need you to stop what you are doing IMMEDIATELY and post that some place that I can see it.

As it is, I did happen to find footage of them playing Crooked Sky. And to say it is amazing and chill-inducing is a gross understatement.

Enjoy!

*sigh*

Bobby Long is playing this Wednesday, August 6th at Hotel Cafe in LA, and Marcus Foster is playing the Friday the 8th and Saturday the 9th. If you're in the area, we'll see you there! Come say hi to the Sisterhood. We don't bite... unless you ask us too. *wink*

Sam Bradley Talks to J-14 About Twilight, New Moon & Pal, Robert Pattinson

J-14 magazine recently sat down with Sam Bradley, co-writer of the song 'Never Think' sung by his longtime friend, Robert Pattinson, in Twilight. Here are a few tidbits. More can be found on their website and for the full interview pick up the mag on newsstands now.

J-14: Did you always know that you wanted to do music as a career?

Sam: Yes. I think when I had written my first song, I was ready. I was like, "Oh my god! I love this. I want to do this for the rest of my life." It hasn't really become a career until fairly recently, but I've been given a gift, a platform with a phenomenon here that is Twilight. It's a great thing to be attached to.

J-14: Have you written anything specifically for the sequel?
Sam:There's nothing specific, but I write about a lot of different things so there are things that may fit.

J-14: What has it been like to see Rob go through all of this craziness?
Sam: I think he deals with it like anyone else would. He's a blessed man right now and he's enjoying himself, but it's his job and this is his life that he has chosen.

Here's Sam singing one of my favorites 'Sea Blue'.

"Hey, Bobby, We Like Your Music!"

Radar Online recently spoke with Bobby Long, co-writer of the now infamous 'Let Me Sign' sung by pal Robert Pattinson on the Twilight iTunes soundtrack. The following is a brief exerpt of that exclusive interview.

Feeling the pressure of fame, Rob has been talking recently how he much the attention has changed his life, but Bobby doesn't seem to have that problem yet. "It hasn't changed a lot for me on a day to day basis, I'm still the same person and I don't get recognized, but people come to my shows and as a musician it's really nice to know to know when you play a show people out there are going to know your songs and recognize you as a musician, that's as much as you can really ask for I think." As for how the group of friends deal with the fame Bobby says, "I've always looked at stuff in a positive way; I find things funny, it's better than a kick in the teeth isn't it? I'd rather have somebody walking up to me and saying I like your music rather than somebody walking up to you and smacking you in the face." Bobby, we can't imagine anyone would want to smack you in the face!

Fans of Let Me Sign might be surprised to know that Bobby doesn't play that song. "I never ever played that song. I played it before with Marcus, the guy I wrote it with and we gave it to Rob, but since then I haven't played it. A real cool thing that has happened since then is people know my other songs and I've never, ever been asked to play that song. So I just play my own stuff." Bobby has a lot of new songs, and even a new favorite song. "I think my favorite is a new song that I wrote today, it's a love song called Cold, Cold Loving. It's always the case that the last song you write is your favorite song; it's like having a new child. I've got two little sisters; I was shunned at the door as soon as my sisters were brought home. The last song you write is the one you love, I love Cold, Cold Loving, it's the freshest one." RadarOnline.com was curious if this was a song based on his personal experience and who was giving him cold, cold love but with typical British dry wit, Bobby says that he doesn't want to share why he writes what he writes. "I think the best thing is to leave the interpretation of the song to the listener. Then it is personal for them. If I was going around telling people about my songs I think it would get quite boring for them."

There is much more to the interview which you can read HERE. And be sure to stop by Bobby's MySpace page to listen to his music as well as visit iTunes to download & gift 'Left to Lie' and 'Being a Mockingbird' Live.

Sam Bradley final show in Los Angeles!

On Friday night, Sam Bradly played his final show in Los Angeles on this leg of his tour. Its hard to believe I've seen Sam play 4 (that's right F-O-U-R TIMES!) since Memorial Day and I if I could I would see him again and again. Which is alot for me.

With each show I learned to appreciate his talent, his lyrics and (my favorite) his wit. Sam has this natural energy, that makes you want to dance to his music, sing ever line and pray he'll continue to sing. You want tech guy to NOT pay attention to the time and just let him sing. I find myself shaking my hips and not caring if anyone is watching me. It's safe to say Sam Bradley is just that talented. I love finding an artist that gets my heart pumping. Between him, Bobby Long and 100Monkeys a girl can go a little crazy.
Sam Bradley usually has a full band playing with him but for the LA shows it was just him, his guitar, and his lyrics. For 2 of the shows his mom Lee Lindsey sang with him but on friday be brough violinist Sonya Lee to the stage (apparently they just met a few hours before the show) she followed Sam's lead for the songs she was unfamiliar with and made Too Far song even more bittersweet then the original.
After the show Sam didnt disappoint fans, he signed t-shirts, post cards and took pictures for more than an hour. After Sam was nice enough to take a picture with me(....AGAIN!) I asked him a question (LOL like I was a reporter or something!), he looked a little tense but he was cool.

Me: Sam if you could collaborate with anyone who would it be?

Sam: (looking relieved) Can they be dead?

Me: Of course

Sam: Ray Charles

Me: Thanks Sam!! (gave him a final hug and sashay off)

When I heard Sam say Ray Charles I didn't need to know the reasoning why....he said: RAY CHARLES - Nuff Said!

I had to add another clip of Sam singing Too Far Gone on 5/27/09 @ the Hotel Cafe performance. Its hard to believe he was battling a cold when he was singing this song!
::sigh::
Isn't he great?!

Sam Bradley Sings the Sea Blues in LA

Okay, better late than never...I got to see Sam Bradley's show last week and he was absolutely amazing! I've watched the videos, I've listened to the songs on his MySpace page over and over (as I am at this very moment), but seeing him live blows all that out of the water. He's such an engaging performer that he creates a very personable experience for the listener. It was an intimate show as Sam performed solo without his band The Men. He's comical and his beautiful voice and musical skills run the gamit of genres from an almost rockabilly sound on 'Soho Whores' to blues with 'Is Love Enough'.After a half day at work, I flew from Vegas to LA and headed straight to the Hotel Cafe with my girl Tammy. We waited in line for 5 1/2 hours before finally heading in to see Sam perform. After the show I picked up a t-shirt and postcard for him to sign. Upon exiting the venue it was sprinkling slightly, but that didn't stop Sam from meeting and greeting his fans.
He's very tall, extremely handsome and has a great personality. I'm not sure what I was yammering about here, but apparently he's a good actor, too, as he genuinely looked like he enjoyed whatever the hell it was. He was adorable in his Pepaw sweater (Apples & Oranges reference if you're a fanfic reader, Sam); which was very soft by the way. Although I was completely sober, I'm having some weird flashback that I may, or may not, have rubbed his back. God help me if I did!

Sam plays his final show in LA tonight at the Whisky, hopefully he'll have a better experience there than Bobby did. He's scheduled to take the stage at 8:15pm. The Twilight Sisterhood will be representing and I hear that some of the Letters to Twilight ladies including themoonisdown will be in attendance, as well. I know you'll all have a great time!

Here's a small taste with Sam's version of 'Never Think' (sung by Robert Pattinson on the Twilight soundtrack) called 'Too Far Gone'.

Sam Bradley rocks out Hotel Cafe

After weeks of nagging from fellow blogger Larrami I finally sat down and listened to Sam Bradley's music on myspace, after listening to Soho Whores I knew I was in love (yes I should listen to Larrami more often, she turned me onto Bobby Long!). I guess the best way to describe his music is accoustic rock meets blues and jazz (faintly) with a swig of country. Yeah he's basically all rolled up into one and it actually sounds good. So after putting his music player on repeat during my work day I was excited to finally see Sam play live at Hotel Cafe.
Now you're probably wondering why you know that name (Sam Bradley) well he was one of the co-writers for Rob Pattinson's 'Never Think' and he's out to prove he's more than a famous person's best friend.

Before the show Sam met up with a few members from Land of Dreamers for a meet & Greet and photo op. He didn't just do the usual stand next to me cuz I'm HOT pose, he actually participated in funny poses and joked around for a few minutes. It gave me a chance to just observe Sam and he was extremely open and friendly. Once he was done with the ladies from LoD I was able to get a pic with him (sorry I'm not that fun it was a simple pic). Standing next to him I realize he's tall (YAH!) and he's very nice so I have to like him, right?

The show over all was GREAT!! And yes I'm gushing because the passion that flows through him makes you want to bottle it up and pray you will be just as passionate about something in your life (ok maybe that's just me but still EFFING PASSIONATE!). Two things in the show that sticks out for me has to be when he brought his mom, singer Lee Lindsey out on stage with him. OMG!! When I first saw his mom arrive I really thought it was his older sister. She's a beautiful blonde woman with a hippy feel to her and just so laid back. Then the woman has a voice that reminds me of Melissa Etheridge meets Jewel. Very talented and if you have a chance to pick up one of her CD's, you will not be disappointed!
My second favoite moment of the night had to be when he played TOO FAR GONE! Oh it was amamzing how the crowd sang along. LOL

Now don't get it twisted Sam Bradley is not riding Robert Pattinson's coattails, its his talent pure and simple. I hope he has a long and wonderful career! Last night was simply the best way to end a 3 day holiday weekend!

Robert Pattinson's Bashful Birthday Bash

After a long day on set, Rob was joined by his parents, his bff Sam Bradley and co-stars Ashley Greene, Kristen Stewart and Jamie Campbell-Bower to celebrate his 23rd birthday. The group enjoyed dinner and, no doubt, drinks at the Global Grill and Satay Bar in Vancouver. Upon leaving Rob was once again mobbed by fans, but stopped to pose for a few pics (notice the death grip that woman has on his ribs). They all jumped in a cab, with Rob shielding himself from cameras, as they sped off at around 1 am this morning.

"where can you find wide awake by amanda bell" - You can't! But, here's her Interview with the author.

The third shows that we've added some readers in Africa and Saudi Arabia while the Canadians have nodded off to sleep or something. We like to think that the return visitors in British Columbia are the cast keeping tabs on us here at the Sisterhood. That or possibly Sam Bradley after getting a Google alert on his name. We'd love to have you all stop in, stay awhile, make yourselves at home and feel free to comment or contact me directly. Oh, and...Rob, just so you know, we have Hot Pockets! ;o)Thanks, again, we love each and every one of you! Come back soon...ya hear?

Sam Bradley thrills fans including Rob Pattinson & Kristen Stewart

Sam Bradley performed to a 750 strong sold out crowd last night in Vancouver all in the name of charity. He took the stage with special guests The Darcy's and The Get Down at Richard's on Richards. Sam's old friend, Robert Pattinson, enjoyed the show from backstage with his Twilight co-star, Kristen Stewart. Enjoy this fan video of Sam and The Men kicking the night off. The footage, the sound and Sam really ROCK...I can't wait to see this man perform live!
