Just Released: Marcus Foster EP on iTunes

Okay, so we all know that Tammy is our resident 100Monkeys blogger and I've settled nicely into being the Brit Pack blogger; a position I take very seriously. ;) Which is why I couldn't be more excited to announce that Marcus Foster has released his first EP on iTunes today. I've already been there, downloaded that and listened to 'I Don't Mind' about a half dozen times on my way in to work this morning.

In addition to 'I Don't Mind', the EP includes '14 Times', 'You, My Love', 'Same Old Dance', the jazzy 'Way Way Way' and the amazing 'Kiss is a knife' which is reminiscent of old Stones. Most of these songs can heard on Marcus' MySpace page where you'll also find his upcoming US tour schedule. So, check them out and be sure to "friend" him while you're there. Then head over to iTunes, purchase the EP and don't forget to gift it to friends and family, as well.

For anyone that's been living under a rock for the last year, Marcus is the co-writer, along with Bobby Long, of a little song called 'Let Me Sign'. This song was featured in the movie Twilight during the scene where Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) sucks the venom out of Bella Swan's (Kristen Stewart) wrist after an attack by the bad vampire James (Cam Gigandet). Rob recorded the song written by his good friends for the film and it's featured on the iTunes version of the Twilight Soundtrack.

Bobby Long's Cold, Cold Loving

It was mentioned the other day when we blogged Bobby Long's interview with Radar Online that he had written a new song called 'Cold, Cold Loving'. Unfortunately, it was not yet up on his MySpace page, but it is NOW. Check him out, scroll down on his music player to hear 'Cold, Cold Loving' and "Friend" him if you haven't already. The cut is just a demo for now, but I don't think you'll be disappointed.

EP release date!!!!!!

hey

I'm really excited I have finally got the release date
six songs, 10 days from now, all aboard,

Marcus.

"Hey, Bobby, We Like Your Music!"

Radar Online recently spoke with Bobby Long, co-writer of the now infamous 'Let Me Sign' sung by pal Robert Pattinson on the Twilight iTunes soundtrack. The following is a brief exerpt of that exclusive interview.

Feeling the pressure of fame, Rob has been talking recently how he much the attention has changed his life, but Bobby doesn't seem to have that problem yet. "It hasn't changed a lot for me on a day to day basis, I'm still the same person and I don't get recognized, but people come to my shows and as a musician it's really nice to know to know when you play a show people out there are going to know your songs and recognize you as a musician, that's as much as you can really ask for I think." As for how the group of friends deal with the fame Bobby says, "I've always looked at stuff in a positive way; I find things funny, it's better than a kick in the teeth isn't it? I'd rather have somebody walking up to me and saying I like your music rather than somebody walking up to you and smacking you in the face." Bobby, we can't imagine anyone would want to smack you in the face!

Fans of Let Me Sign might be surprised to know that Bobby doesn't play that song. "I never ever played that song. I played it before with Marcus, the guy I wrote it with and we gave it to Rob, but since then I haven't played it. A real cool thing that has happened since then is people know my other songs and I've never, ever been asked to play that song. So I just play my own stuff." Bobby has a lot of new songs, and even a new favorite song. "I think my favorite is a new song that I wrote today, it's a love song called Cold, Cold Loving. It's always the case that the last song you write is your favorite song; it's like having a new child. I've got two little sisters; I was shunned at the door as soon as my sisters were brought home. The last song you write is the one you love, I love Cold, Cold Loving, it's the freshest one." RadarOnline.com was curious if this was a song based on his personal experience and who was giving him cold, cold love but with typical British dry wit, Bobby says that he doesn't want to share why he writes what he writes. "I think the best thing is to leave the interpretation of the song to the listener. Then it is personal for them. If I was going around telling people about my songs I think it would get quite boring for them."

There is much more to the interview which you can read HERE. And be sure to stop by Bobby's MySpace page to listen to his music as well as visit iTunes to download & gift 'Left to Lie' and 'Being a Mockingbird' Live.

Bobby Long Needs Assistance from German Fans!

Bobby Long Announces Berlin Show on June 6th
But Looks to Add Gig on June 5th with the Help of Fans

Up All Night Music is looking for a location on June 5th in Berlin, Germany for a live music show by solo acoustic performer Bobby Long from the U.K. We are in need of a venue for our artist with a capacity of approximately 200 people.

Bobby co-wrote "Let Me Sign", a song co-written by Marcus Foster and recorded by Robert Pattinson for the Twilight Soundtrack - the soundtrack debuted at the #1 spot on the Billboard Charts and claimed top position worldwide.

Bobby has already played a sold out tour in North America and will be returning to tour the States during the summer and autumn months.

He continues to perform in select venues in England and since he has never played in Germany the fans have been flying to the U.K. to see him play. As a result, a large fan base has developed in Germany.

Bobby will be playing at the Twilight fan event taking place in Berlin on June 6th - this event is already sold out so he would like to book a small live music venue as a special thank you to the fans that have traveled all the way to the U.K. to hear his music in the past.

Check Bobby out at www.myspace.com/musicbobbylong. His new single, "Being a Mockingbird", was recorded live at Arlene's Grocery in NYC and is set for digital release during the first week of June.

Please contact phil@upallnightmusic.com with venue booking information in Berlin.

Thank you.

Bobby Long is hitting his stride

Bobby Long, one of the amazing collaborators behind the Twilight Soundtrack hit 'Let Me Sign', is really starting to hit his stride in the music industry. He's returned home to his native England to get some much needed rest following his mini U.S. tour last month. For the reviews of our Bobby Long Experiences, please click HERE and HERE.

We received a message from Bobby's manager, Phil Taylor letting us know that all is well and only getting better. We here at The Twilight Sisterhood could not be more happy for Bobby as this crazy ride gains speed, but really it's no surprise....he's worked very hard for this and is so deserving.

FROM PHIL TAYLOR....

Bobby Long now has over 500,000 hits on MySpace (www.myspace.com/musicbobbylong)! He just added new tunes and photos with more music to come.

Bobby was also number one on Twitter Trends, today.

Thanks everyone!

Phil
