Bobby Long's Cold, Cold Loving

It was mentioned the other day when we blogged Bobby Long's interview with Radar Online that he had written a new song called 'Cold, Cold Loving'. Unfortunately, it was not yet up on his MySpace page, but it is NOW. Check him out, scroll down on his music player to hear 'Cold, Cold Loving' and "Friend" him if you haven't already. The cut is just a demo for now, but I don't think you'll be disappointed.

"Hey, Bobby, We Like Your Music!"

Radar Online recently spoke with Bobby Long, co-writer of the now infamous 'Let Me Sign' sung by pal Robert Pattinson on the Twilight iTunes soundtrack. The following is a brief exerpt of that exclusive interview.

Feeling the pressure of fame, Rob has been talking recently how he much the attention has changed his life, but Bobby doesn't seem to have that problem yet. "It hasn't changed a lot for me on a day to day basis, I'm still the same person and I don't get recognized, but people come to my shows and as a musician it's really nice to know to know when you play a show people out there are going to know your songs and recognize you as a musician, that's as much as you can really ask for I think." As for how the group of friends deal with the fame Bobby says, "I've always looked at stuff in a positive way; I find things funny, it's better than a kick in the teeth isn't it? I'd rather have somebody walking up to me and saying I like your music rather than somebody walking up to you and smacking you in the face." Bobby, we can't imagine anyone would want to smack you in the face!

Fans of Let Me Sign might be surprised to know that Bobby doesn't play that song. "I never ever played that song. I played it before with Marcus, the guy I wrote it with and we gave it to Rob, but since then I haven't played it. A real cool thing that has happened since then is people know my other songs and I've never, ever been asked to play that song. So I just play my own stuff." Bobby has a lot of new songs, and even a new favorite song. "I think my favorite is a new song that I wrote today, it's a love song called Cold, Cold Loving. It's always the case that the last song you write is your favorite song; it's like having a new child. I've got two little sisters; I was shunned at the door as soon as my sisters were brought home. The last song you write is the one you love, I love Cold, Cold Loving, it's the freshest one." RadarOnline.com was curious if this was a song based on his personal experience and who was giving him cold, cold love but with typical British dry wit, Bobby says that he doesn't want to share why he writes what he writes. "I think the best thing is to leave the interpretation of the song to the listener. Then it is personal for them. If I was going around telling people about my songs I think it would get quite boring for them."

There is much more to the interview which you can read HERE. And be sure to stop by Bobby's MySpace page to listen to his music as well as visit iTunes to download & gift 'Left to Lie' and 'Being a Mockingbird' Live.

Sam Bradley Sings the Sea Blues in LA

Okay, better late than never...I got to see Sam Bradley's show last week and he was absolutely amazing! I've watched the videos, I've listened to the songs on his MySpace page over and over (as I am at this very moment), but seeing him live blows all that out of the water. He's such an engaging performer that he creates a very personable experience for the listener. It was an intimate show as Sam performed solo without his band The Men. He's comical and his beautiful voice and musical skills run the gamit of genres from an almost rockabilly sound on 'Soho Whores' to blues with 'Is Love Enough'.After a half day at work, I flew from Vegas to LA and headed straight to the Hotel Cafe with my girl Tammy. We waited in line for 5 1/2 hours before finally heading in to see Sam perform. After the show I picked up a t-shirt and postcard for him to sign. Upon exiting the venue it was sprinkling slightly, but that didn't stop Sam from meeting and greeting his fans.
He's very tall, extremely handsome and has a great personality. I'm not sure what I was yammering about here, but apparently he's a good actor, too, as he genuinely looked like he enjoyed whatever the hell it was. He was adorable in his Pepaw sweater (Apples & Oranges reference if you're a fanfic reader, Sam); which was very soft by the way. Although I was completely sober, I'm having some weird flashback that I may, or may not, have rubbed his back. God help me if I did!

Sam plays his final show in LA tonight at the Whisky, hopefully he'll have a better experience there than Bobby did. He's scheduled to take the stage at 8:15pm. The Twilight Sisterhood will be representing and I hear that some of the Letters to Twilight ladies including themoonisdown will be in attendance, as well. I know you'll all have a great time!

Here's a small taste with Sam's version of 'Never Think' (sung by Robert Pattinson on the Twilight soundtrack) called 'Too Far Gone'.

Bobby Long hits 20K Plays and the Day is Not Yet Dead and Done

Bobby Long hit 20K plays on MySpace so far today!

Hailed as a talented songwriter and captivating storyteller, Bobby weaves life into a tapestry of tales filled with springboards of emotion as he paints vibrant and colorful pictures for the listener with his soulful folk and acoustic roots.

He is the co-writer of "Let Me Sign" - a song co-written by Marcus Foster and recorded by Robert Pattinson for the Twilight Soundtrack.

His single "Left to Lie" recently climbed to the #8 spot on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter Charts in Britain, beating out Hallelujah.

Bobby has been holding down the #2 spot under the Unsigned Folk Artist category on MySpace in the U.S. and he's currently in the #1 spot in the U.K.

His next single "Being A Mockingbird" - the live version taped at Arlene's Grocery, in New York, during his tour in April - will be available for digital download the first week of June.

Bobby Long is hitting his stride

Bobby Long, one of the amazing collaborators behind the Twilight Soundtrack hit 'Let Me Sign', is really starting to hit his stride in the music industry. He's returned home to his native England to get some much needed rest following his mini U.S. tour last month. For the reviews of our Bobby Long Experiences, please click HERE and HERE.

We received a message from Bobby's manager, Phil Taylor letting us know that all is well and only getting better. We here at The Twilight Sisterhood could not be more happy for Bobby as this crazy ride gains speed, but really it's no surprise....he's worked very hard for this and is so deserving.

FROM PHIL TAYLOR....

Bobby Long now has over 500,000 hits on MySpace (www.myspace.com/musicbobbylong)! He just added new tunes and photos with more music to come.

Bobby was also number one on Twitter Trends, today.

Thanks everyone!

Phil

Blast Exclusive on Bobby Long

Well, here is one of the first of many articles to surface on Bobby's US performances. He has been doing press nonstop, so we'll soon see several more great interviews and surely some amazing reviews of tonight's show at the Whisky a Go Go in West Hollywood.

Anyone can hear the talent and potential of Bobby Long on his MySpace or his iTunes single “Left to Lie,” but there is no way to fully understand how far this boy will go until seeing him perform live. There’s something about his humble, apologetic humor that endears him to audiences, and something about the honesty and vulnerability of his music that captivates and moves them as well. The contrast in the two makes for an absolutely great performance. One minute the audience is giggling in response to Bobby’s impression of Justin Timberlake (his version of “Cry Me a River” may or may not have been better than the original) and then next they are completely silenced by the haunting lyrics of a new song.

Long has been receiving a lot of attention lately, in part due to the release of his first single, “Left to Lie,” on iTunes. The first day the song was out, it climbed the charts. “It was really cool. It went up to No. 8 on the Folk chart which was really great because it didn’t have any advertising at all, just word of mouth, really. Just being up on that list with all these incredibly famous folk musicians — not like lightly famous — but these incredibly famous folk musicians and having my name there as well was just really, really good feeling. Really unbelievable though, as well.”

Hey, Jackson, meet Jasper!

I'm wondering if Jackson thought he was having an out of body experience here? At TwiCon San Francisco recently, the loveable Jackson Rathbone took the opportunity to meet his alter ego, Jasper Hale...Hillywood style. Gotta love that smile! They have several more pics from the event on their 100 Monkeys' MySpace page.

Special Thanks to Cullen Boys Anonymous for the reminder of how great this Hillywood Show Twilight Parody is. The Twilight Fandom never ceases to amaze me!

Bobby Long on Vamp Radio

Ok...so it's no secret around here that I am a HUGE Bobby Long fan! My status on both my Facebook and MySpace pages praise him and his talents, I've sent out bulletins asking for people to friend his MySpace page, we've blogged here about him several times and I'm traveling to Hollywood next month just to see him perform at the Whisky.

Bobby was scheduled to be on Vamp Radio last Monday. However, due to an unexpected event he wasn't able to make it, but his manager, Phil Taylor, filled in nicely sharing how Bob met Rob.

Excellent News: Bobby has rescheduled to be on Friday, March 27th at 5:00 pm. Please show Bobby the love he so deserves by tuning in!

Rob still in Vancouver?

According to The Vancouver Sun, Robert Pattinson is still in Vancouver, despite speculation that he might make an appearance at a DVD Release Party tonight somewhere in America. His good friend, Sam Bradley, is also in Vancouver and will be playing tomorrow night (Sun says Saturday, Sam's MySpace page says Tonight [Friday]) leading many to believe...or get on their hands and knees and pray...that Rob will make some sort of an appearance at his show.

Sam co-wrote 'Never Think' that was on the Twilight Soundtrack and featured in the movie during the restaurant scene. Will Rob stop by to check it out or will he join Sam onstage?

Things that make you go, "Hmmmmmm...".

Kellan take on Rob

While on Kellan Lutz Online I found a funny video of Kellan while at the SF Convention.

Apparently, Rob isn't the sporty type as you can see in Kellan's best Rob impersonation.

And if you get an email on facebook from Kellan Lutz....its not him....not that I actually believed the sent me a message but if you come across a unexpect Kellan message its fake.. Kellan makes it known he does not have a myspace page nor a facebook.
