It has just been announced that New Moon is set to premiere in Knoxville, TN as part of he Children's Charity of Eastern Tennessee. They are hopeful that with the hype and star power surrounding New Moon's release they will be able to raise a large sum for the children's charity.
Dena Pinsker, executive director of Variety said all three of the Knoxville premieres from 2005-2007 made more than $250,000 each in sponsorships and ticket sales, and last year's "Journey" premiere made more than $300,000. With "The Twilight Saga: New Moon," "We'll be looking for even better numbers," she said.
While I am disappointed that the premiere will not be held in LA, and therefore close enough for me to attend, if I have to miss it I am glad that it is for a good cause.
The premiere will be held at the Regal Cinemas' Pinnacle 18 at Turkey Creek on November 18th.
