How to Be Released in the US!

From Just Jared:

Robert Pattinson strums a guitar on the box art of his indie flick, How To Be.

The 23-year-old British actor plays Art in the dramedy, an aspiring musician and supermarket worker who is stuck in a rut. He’s just been dumped by his girlfriend and is forced to move back home to live with his emotionally distant parents. Art is hopeless and depressed until he discovers the best-selling self-help book “It’s Not Your Fault” and spends his inheritance money to hire the book’s oddball author, Dr. Levi Ellington (Powell Jones), as his live-in life coach to get him through his “quarter-life crisis” and help him be “more normal.”

The How To Be DVD, with an exclusive interview with Robert, never-before-seen footage, and a 50-minute making-of featurette hits stores on Tuesday, November 17!

Can't wait!

Robert Pattinson Day Declared for June 20th

The City Screen Picturehouse in York, UK, is dubbing Saturday, June 20th, as Robert Pattinson Day. The cinema will honor the hottest thing out of Britain since David Beckham with Rob's 3 latest releases shown back to back to back. The day will begin with 'Twilight', followed by 'How To Be' and concluding with 'Little Ashes'. What a great day to be in the UK...I think US theaters should take note and follow suit!

ET's behind the scenes footage of Rob Pattinson's 'How to Be'

From Entertainment Tonight:
With the premiere of 'New Moon' months away, you can get your fill of Rob Pattinson in his new movie, 'How to Be,' in the meantime.

We're taking you behind the scenes of the filming of 'How to Be,' and sharing a clip!

The film tells the story of Art, played by Rob, who is an aspiring singer-songwriter who has just been dumped and moves back home to live with his parents. He uses his inheritance to hire a therapist from Canada to come to England and be his "life coach."

The role draws upon Rob's real-life love of music, and he even contributed three songs to the film's soundtrack.

'How to Be' is currently playing on demand on various cable providers via IFC Festival Direct. Visit www.howtobemovie.com for more information.

***'How to Be' was such a terrific movie that I cannot wait to own, but this is great to see the behind the scenes fun. Director Oliver Irving has said that the scenes in the pub were natural with everyone really getting drunk for authenticity. I really like drunk Rob.

Don't Rob From Rob!

On behalf of my Sisters, I would like to give a shoutout to Gozde at Robsessed for her amazing work. She keeps me entertained at work on the daily. Shhh, don't tell my bosses.

Along with the shoutout, I need to offer up an enormous HALE YES! amd climb right up on that soapbox with her regarding the leak of How to Be on the internets. PEOPLE. People, people, people. Look, I understand. I'm as impatient as the next rabid fangirl person for this movie. I can't wait until I can indulge in 85 delicious minutes of RobArt.

HOWEVER, I am not going to stoop so low as to steal from Rob and everyone else who put such hard work and effort into this film. Please remember, this is an independent film shot on a shoestring budget and let's be honest, the only reason it's getting any mainstream attention at all is because Rob is now a supahstar.

Now, I know you're dying of anticipation. And maybe you missed a screening, or perhaps there wasn't one in your area? Never fear, we've got you covered. Or at least IFC Direct On Demand does. Check it out. Revel in the amazingness that is awkward, British RobArt from the privacy of your own home. Don't live in the US? Well, you lucky Brits will be able to hold the DVD in your hot little hands in just TWO WEEKS. I am jealous.

So the moral of the story is: let's not be selfish fans. Ok? Mmkay. In the words of the great Eric Yorkie: chillax.

Stealing makes Rob sad.

How To Be UK DVD

Thanks to ROBsessed for the det's on the UK release of How To Be, starring the adorkable Robert Pattinson as Art. They have many more pics and my own personal review of the film can be found HERE.

Press Release: TWILIGHT sensation Robert Pattinson stars in the new, quirky, offbeat, post teen-life crisis comedy HOW TO BE (15); available to buy for the first time on DVD on 18th May 2009, RRP £14.99 and also via iTunes, RRP £9.99.(Gozde: Pre-order for £9.98 at Amazon How To Be [DVD] [2008] ;))

Art (Robert Pattinson) sees himself as an enigmatic artiste. But he realizes that he must take action if he is to prevent himself from wallowing and sinking deeper into his angst-ridden life as a struggling and disillusioned musician in London. A solution comes in the shape of a book titled “It’s Not Your Fault”. Not content to just draw inspiration from the printed words, however, Art invites the elderly author of the book to come and live with him and his dysfunctional parents…

HOW TO BE is a surreal and comedic journey about growing up and a wry look at the increasingly common phenomena of the twenty-something generation premature crisis in life, frustrated creativity and the lucrative world of self-help. Directed by Oliver Irving from his own screenplay, with contributions from his friends Johnny White and Joe Hastings (also the composer of the music in the film); HOW TO BE is a whimsical relationship comedy that is sure to generate laughs and cringes in equal measure.

Special Features:
• Extended Scenes (26 mins.)
• How to Make “How To Be” featurette (20 mins.)
• Audio commentary with director Oliver Irving, Mike Pearce (Nikki), Johnny White (Ronny) and Joe Hastings

Do You Know 'How To Be'?

I had the distinct pleasure of attending the Las Vegas Film Festival last night and screening 'How To Be', starring Robert Pattinson. The story follows Art (Pattinson), a young musician, as he trudges through a quarter life crisis (I totally relate with this as I, too, experienced one at that age). His girlfriend dumps him forcing him to move home with his emotionally detached parents, he has a couple jobs that he can't stand and some friends that aren't much help to him at all. In an attempt to become "normal" Art hires self-help guru, Dr. Levi Ellington (played by Powell Jones), after reading his book, 'It's Not Your Fault'.

Art is a beautiful mess and Rob did a great job breathing life - or the lack of - into his character. Director, Oliver Irving, excellently shows us Art's internal struggles while doing so with quite a lot of humor. I laughed, hysterically at times, while very nearly being brought to tears at others. Art's friends are played by Johnny White (Ronny) and Mike Pearce (Nikki) and they were so fun to watch. A terrific cast of characters that flawlessly revealed that none of them are even remotely close to being "normal" themselves.

Oliver and the movie's composer, Joe Hasting, joined us in the theater afterward to answer a few questions and a good time was had by all at the sold out event. The movie continues it's American screening tour and will be distributed on the IFC Festival Direct On Demand Channel beginning April 29th. Since, it's not available on satellite, I hope that it's released on DVD before long, as I really want to see it again without all the noise and distractions.

Ultimately, none of us are completely "normal" and sometimes it really is not your fault. It's a good lesson in self-discovery and how the way you speak to and treat people can affect them to the very core of their being. Art tries desperately to figure out 'How To Be', but really do any of us truly know?

This clip from the Director's Diary is from the screening in Austin, TX, when Rob appeared with him.

It's On Demand for Robert Pattinson and his Indie Film, 'How To Be'

Although, this information was release a couple weeks ago, the extra details on the CD are pretty exciting.

MTV reports Robert Pattinson is coming to a television set near you — not as the "Twilight" vampire we've all come to know, but as Art, a struggling singer/songwriter trying to get over a breakup in the indie comedy "How to Be." MTV News exclusively reports that IFC Festival Direct will be showing the film on demand beginning April 29.

The 22-year-old actor not only stars in the film but also performs three original songs on the soundtrack, which will be released on CD and as a digital download through iTunes and other online retailers on April 28.

"How to Be" follows Art as he moves back in with his parents post-breakup and hires a full-time self-help guru to help him work through the pain and become "more normal." The film was written and directed by newcomer Oliver Irving and also stars Rebecca Pidgeon. It premiered at the 2008 Slamdance Film Festival as has one numerous awards including Best Actor for Robert Pattinson.

The soundtrack is a 23-song collection. In addition to Pattinson's three tracks, the disc includes songs from Love, Captain Beefheart and the Roches. A 12-page booklet featuring song lyrics and never-before-seen "How to Be" photos will be included in both the CD and digital versions. The CD also comes with one of two movies posters.

But perhaps the best news of all for Edward Cullen fans is that 250 people who preorder the CD directly from Dreamboat Records before April 28 will be selected at random to receive a booklet poster personally signed by Pattinson.

I've got my tickets to see the movie in 2 weeks and will definitely be getting that CD, as well. How about you?
