Rob: Footloose and Fancy Free

It has just been announced that Chace Crawford will be reprising Kevin Bacon's role in the upcoming Footloose remake, and apparently some fans are disappointed that the role did not go to Rob. One fan told MyParkMag, "I'm gutted Rob isn't going to be in Footloose. It would have been great to see him in a musical for a change. He would have proved to the world that he is a better actor than Zac Efron and the rest of the High School Musical lot."

Another fan lamented, "Rob is such a talented singer that I was hoping he'd be in the musical because I love hearing him sing."

Personally, I feel that Rob can do SO much better than a silly role in an 80's remake. He is leagues beyond the likes of teenage stars Efron and Crawford, and I am glad he has decided to focus on more serious roles. His talent should not be wasted on throw away projects; it would be a sure-fire way for him to be pigeon-holed in the teen movie genre. We know his potential stretches far beyond that.

Plus, while I'm sure it would be all kinds of adorable to see, I am fairly certain that Rob cannot dance.

Continuing the Rob Hotness Factor...

According to MTV Movies Blog, Rob has been named the 4th Most Eligible Bachelor of 2009. WTF?!...He's #1 in MY Book!!! Here's the scoop:

Robert Pattinson Named Fourth Most Eligible Bachelor
Published by Jocelyn Vena on Thursday, March 5, 2009 at 2:09 pm.

In a sea of attractive, swoon-worthy men like "Fringe" star Joshua Jackson (#33), Shia LeBeouf (#16), Adrian Grenier (#15) and even the Jonas Brothers (#14), the competition to make it to number one was very, very tough. Yet, somehow it’s initially surprising to find out that "Twilight" heartthrob Robert Pattinson only made it to number four on a list of most eligible bachelors.
We are sure the Twilighters everywhere are collectively asking: How is he only number four? But, really they should be asking: How did he make a list meant for TV actors when he isn’t even on a TV show? (And no, "Twilight" commercials don’t seem to count.)
Perhaps it is because RPattz is just that powerful in the world of pop culture. So powerful that in fact he beat out equally "Gossip Girl’s" Chace Crawford and Ed Westwick as well as "The Office" star John Krasinski.
He may have made the list, but he was beat out by three other TV actors. The lucky guys are: Jared Padalecki (Supernatural) at #3, #2 Milo Ventimiglia (Heroes) at #2 and Jensen Ackles (Supernatural) at #1. Although he may have come in at number four, at least he’s in good company.
