Music Review: New Moon Soundtrack

I was extremely excited to get my copy of the New Moon Soundtrack, yes it was a gift but it's a gift I would gladly return. I can't begin to explain my utter disappointment on how much I DISLIKE this sound track. Now if I had insomnia it would be perfect because it will cause you to fall asleep even while walking. Someone on Twitter asked if all the songs sound alike and YES THEY DO! The upbeat tempo songs have a very distinct sound and the slower tempos are so slow I would think I was sleep walking.

I'm praying that when I finally watch New Moon these songs will fit, they had to be chosen to fit certain scenes, right? I've even heard a few say they like this sound track better than Twilight's sorry but at least with the Twilight Soundtrack you had a mix, New Moon is such a one trick pony I just get pissed.

Trust me I've tried to listen to the sound track on many occasions, while going to work, at works where music is the only way I make it through the day, at home while pretending to cook. And I'm still bored.

I think who ever put this soundtrack together missed out when they passed up 100Monkeys. They have a great eclectic sound that would have vastly IMPROVED this monstrosity of a CD.
Whew...and here I didn't think I had much to say.

Please remember SOMBER does not mean BORING! Somber can be good.

DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE — MEET ME ON THE EQUINOX (((BORING)))
When I first heard Death Cab was on the soundtrack I was instantly disappointed and when I finally heard Meet Me on the Equinox, was not surprised how much I disliked the song. And it didn’t help my local station played it when my alarm went off at 5:30 am did not make me a happy blogger.

BAND OF SKULLS — FRIENDS (((ROCK)))
Hands down best song on the soundtrack, I don’t know what the band looks like but in my imaginary video the guys are slightly geeky with tatts and piercings drinking whiskey shots at the local bar. The ‘Beautiful’ friends aren’t your usual beautiful people but oddly beautiful. And the lead singer will be wearing skinny pants and look like he needs to be fed! And the girl of his dreams will be some girl under 100lbs., who sports a lip ring and platinum blond hair.

THOM YORKE — HEARING DAMAGE (((BORING)))
So….this song is 5 minutes of time I’ll never get back. The somber voice with the electronic beats drove me up effing wall. NEXT!

LYKKE LI — POSSIBILITY (((BORING)))
Is it possible to die from boredom? After listening to this song I’m starting to believe it’s a possibility.

THE KILLERS — A WHITE DEMON LOVE SONG (((Sad)))
I love the Killers and was excited when I heard they were on the soundtrack but I this song is just plain blah. I don’t know if I like it (sorry NO LOVE!) but I don’t hate it.

ANYA MARINA — SATELLITE HEART (((Not Sure)))
This song had promise but in the end I was bored. I stopped listening to the words so I made no connection.

MUSE — I BELONG TO YOU (NEW MOON REMIX) ((((ROCK))))
I like this version of I Belong to You, I get very irritated with the original version. Either way Muse rocks my socks off as usual.

BON IVER & ST. VINCENT — ROSYLN (((BORING)))
This song is simply boring. Why hurt myself putting this on repeat. ((((NEXT)))

BLACK REBEL MOTORCYCLE CLUB — DONE ALL WRONG (((Not Sure)))
This song made me want to strap on some chaps and sit in a saloon and drink whiskey. Part of me like but again boredom sets in.

HURRICANE BELLS — MONSTERS (((ROCKS)))
LOVE this song too, almost as much as Friends. I love to sing it off key on repeat for hours at a time.

SEA WOLF — THE VIOLET HOUR (((Not Sure)))
I like this song but not in love with it, the beat is nice, great voice and pretty catchy. Okay I LIKE IT!!! YAH!!!

OK GO — SHOOTING THE MOON (((NOPE.COM)))
Yeah this is the song that literally gives me a headache. Too much going on. (((NEXT)))

GRIZZLY BEAR — SLOW LIFE ((((BORING)))
Another song where time stopped and it wasn’t because Rob Pattinson walked into the room. This is just another form of torture.

EDITORS — NO SOUND BUT THE WIND (((BORING)))
Sigh….why? There is nothing worst than an irritably boring song.
“Help me carry the light…” Dude I will help you keep your trap shut! (((NEXT)))

ALEXANDRE DESPLAT — NEW MOON (THE MEADOW) (((Not Sure)))
I crave a glass of wine when I listen to this so that’s NOT too bad. Just not my cup of tea but yet still soothing.

Robert and Kristens Harper's Bizaare Interview

Guh! I love this pic...

Okay, so this is the way I see it. It's a great interview, but no where in it does it have the shocking news that RP and KStew are in fact together. I think in many ways it tries to portray that they are, by playing the 'he said she said' in the interview portion. BUT they were interviewed separately even though one could easily mistake that they weren't. It seems to me, IMO that these two are noting more than very good friends with maybe a free side benefits thrown in, to spice things up. Read ahead and let us know what you think!

Rob Pattinson's and Kristen Stewart's rooms sit side by side on the thirtysomethingth floor of the Sheraton hotel in Vancouver ("the Couve," as Kristen calls it), where they are filming Eclipse, the third installment of the Twilight saga. They spend a lot of time in their rooms in the sky -- two Rapunzels of sorts entertaining themselves behind closed doors -- because it's really, really hard to go out. "There are like 15 different exits in this place," observes Kristen of the tactics she and the rest of the Twilight cast use to avoid the paparazzi. She adds, "Rob is more frustrated with it, but he's 23 and I'm 19. He had a couple more years to be an adult and to be independent, whereas just as I was getting to the age when it's normal to go out by yourself ..." She pauses. Rob: "I have weird personal-space issues, and so I can't stand people -- um, I'll do anything to not have any touch-ups."

Kristen: "Rob. In a very childish way, in every aspect of his life. He'll literally start talking in a different voice if he's won something. He sounds like a five-year-old."
Rob: "I'd say it was even. She said me? Really? When I really win things, it's just like..." [Kristen is correct: He makes a noise like a five-year-old.]

Kristen: "I'm definitely claiming that one. Rob can barely jump rope. I call him Flippy because when he does his stunt rehearsals, he flips around [makes a gesture like a penguin]. And, God, when he tries to run ..."
Rob: "Kristen. You notice it in the film; she looks so much more athletic than I do. And I'm supposed to be the superhero."

Kristen: "I'd have to say him. I hope he says him too actually. Like every time he looks in the mirror and he twists his hair. Actually, he could give a fuck about his hair. I hope that sarcasm translates."
Rob: "It's kind of a tie. We're both pretty proud people. Her ego is more solid than mine, but mine has soared to such peaks, it's ridiculous. Mine's more erratic, but it can get to a point when it's, like, godlike. Only in my eyes, of course. Sometimes just when I say hello the right way, I'm like, Whoa, I'm so cool."

Rob: "She would say me, but I reckon it's her. If either one of us catches the other one doing it, we're like, Jesus Christ, is that what you're looking at? And the other one's on their phone pretending to text. I look up my competition more than she does. I'm incredibly shallow. I think she just looks at herself."

Rob: "I was once, but not so much anymore. Kristen's a little more open now."

Kristen: "Rob. He's a little bit more paranoid, so that feeds into superstition more."
Rob: "I am. I believe a lot in karma and stuff. Like when I end up with egg on my face, I'm like, Fate! I was born doomed. But I think it's more being an idiot than superstitious."

No More Hiding For Kellan

Twilight fans are too eagle-eyed for movie vampire Kellan Lutz - he can't even go out in disguise anymore.

The actor admits he has a vast collection of wigs and went to the Comic-Con event in San Diego, California dressed as a homeless man - but film fans are getting wise to his many looks.

He says, "I used to love going to local high school football games near my house and I can't really go there anymore."

"I wanted to walk around Comic-Con this year, so I dressed kinda homeless. But someone recognized me and posted it online. I was like, 'Thanks. Now I can't wear that again.'"

I'm sorry Kellan baby, but you really do look good in ANYTHING, so yes...we recognise you. There's no hiding that loveliness...
